Question Toner compatability (bulk?)

I have several copy machines/printers between myself and friends and am interested in purchasing toner in bulk.
QUESTION #1) Is there a FAQ already on this? Cross-reference sheet?

QUESTION #2) Do certain brands of toner contain manufacturer recommended additives (for lubricity, etc) much the same way as auto dealers recommend certain motor oil specs?

QUESTION #3) toner grain fineness? I'm thinking along the lines of gunpowder grain choices for ammo reloaders. Is this a consideration?

QUESTION #4) What is the compatability of toner between the following copiers/printers?:
a) Canon IR2220N in which the toner "door" slides out and is clearly for bulk toner refill,
b) Mita DC-4090: has a white bottle that can be purchased already filled, but looks easy enough to refill,
c) Xerox 5020: came with seven new toner cartridges, so won't be needing toner for this one for a while, but just in case,
d) Xerox Docuprinter N4025: the drum is worn out on this so I'm not sure if I'll be rebuilding the cartridge, or purchasing a new one. It's quite full of toner though. Is it safe to re-use with a new drum?
e) Lanier 7328: I am currently getting toner cartridges for this machine for $15 each in bulk purchase, so bulk refill is not a big issue here, just curious.

Thank you,
- Jeff

I havn't been able to find any specs on toner in any manuals so I wouldnt reccomend trying to buy toner in bulk. There are just too many variable's in toner.
Canon has mono-component toner, most have dual-component, some are negative charged, some are positive charged. Also, toner has a specific melting point matched to the speed and temp of the fuserin the copier.

Asking a service tech, please don't add anything but the manufacturere's or katun's equivalent toner.

Guessing you don't have contracts on these, otherwise you would have already dumped whatever was cheapest and looked the same color in the bottle. Times are rough for all industries, but I wouldn't recommend coming on a copier tech site to find a way to take money out of dealers mouths. What industry are you in, dare I ask, finance? Just because it looks good on paper, doesn't mean it really will look good on paper. Cheap/drill and fill/incompatible toner/ink looks good on the bottom line, but doesn't look good on the printed line. As much as everyone thinks that the copier/document industry is made up of thieves and are robbing companies one penny at a time, let's see... unlike the mortgage crisis, healthcare reform and healthcare reform, there isn't a national per copy crisis or copier industry reform.
