You must have a printer kit installed. Check the counter button under device configuration and check to whether there is printer kit installed, UFRII, PCL should be present if not then there is no printer kit.

The program is embedded into the main controller thus must be activated with a license.

As far as I know there is no compartment where you can store this card.

which driver, printer language, did you use?
what was the error code in printer job log?
Test it with UFR2 printer language.

as long as i can remember you could not configure network settings if the copier didn't have a printer board installed, i could be wrong.

    1. You never indicated if you checked the device configuration to verify IF you have the printer kit installed.

    2. Yes, you can configure network settings without it having a printer kit. The "kit" is nothing more than activating the lisc (as in everything else, hardware, is there).

    3. IF you do have the printer kit installed (and activated by lisc) then make sure you are using the right driver.

To add to what Costd replied to, the newer boxes come with network capability built in, (1) for software upgrading, (2) so the the device can be managed remotely through RUI. You can do any number of things like fax address book maintenance, see whether the system is up and running, etc, etc, etc.
