Ir8500 e110 also need laser

Had E110 error . Would happen maybe once or twice a day. Then got worse and would happen on boot. Checked relay board for 38v and ok . Don,t know how quiet the motor was (can,t hear anymore). Anyway swaped out the laser from one of my other machines and worked fine. Also switched driver boards and that worked ok too. So i have a bad laser motor confirmed.

I know this is not the parts section but does anyone have a laser scanner for a IR8500. Nation-wide has them for $480 repair or $540 exchange. Can anyone beat that price???

Canon USA has "finally" gotten Japan to acknowledge the fact that most of the laser units for the upper Canon machines have a problem.There is a Tech Pub out for people that have had to replace or repair the laser unit.They are compensating the dealer for the repair or replacement of the laser unit.

Dont know what happened to techchatter but i do miss it.Like this site much better though!

wow its so costly there i could get a used(but working) 8500 for that price
