The 4&9 does not apply to these models. Stick with the 2&8 sequence, just keep trying. Hit reset once in a while then try again.

Just hit 2 & 8, you do not need to hold it down. And I agree with Screwtape sometimes it takes a few tries (and correct about the 4&9 alt didn't start until 2270's).

I agree with Andy, maybe he got the wrong * button. It should be the * with the circle right below the ? button. If it won't work possibility that one of the button is not working ( poor contact ).

The Yellow Reset button! ! !

The correct sollution is "User settings, 2&8, User settings" if the LUI (Local User Interface" hangs or locks the possibilty of entering the Service mode, press (the yellow) Clear/Restet button and try again.
The Yellow button will work as a release button, if you fail to enter the right combination.
    Good luck!
"User setting" a.k.a.: star boy, nose star, fan brain or star fellow

    Hi Sturay,
Is your button actually labeled User Settings? In the US, the button is labeled Additional Functions...

I know I answered before. I was wondering... Why do you need to get into service mode?
