    1. You must establish a network connection.
    2. Do you see a scan tab or send tab?
    3. You need a color scan gear tool.(driver)

Its a real simple operation but first you must for fill the first three steps.

Which kind of scanning do you want to do, push scanning or pull scanning.
It all depend on which type of scanning you want to do.

Do you have a send tab?

    Or

Are you trying to use the scan tab?

I'm going to say push. They currently have 3 PCs they can select to scan to, but they want to add a fourth. I've installed the the scan gear on this fourth PC so they can scan from an application, but that's not what they want.

I think you may be out of luck for push scanning. As Screwtape said you need the Send tab to do that. It's and optional feature that must be bought and added.

So, they can send scans to the three PCs already set up but can't add a fourth?

They already have the option to send, the unit is setup to select from 3 PCs to send to, they want to add one.

My mistake, you do have the send tab. From the copier end all you have to do is add and address book entry with the path (\\ip_address\share) to the shared folder on the 4th PC. On the 4th PC, give the copier permission to change the folder. Add the credentials the copier is using to the 4th PC so it can access the folder.

Are you having problems accessing the 4th PC's shard folder? Or just need detailed instructions adding an address book entry? Canon kinda failed at making adding entries easy, but at least on the newer ones you can add it right from the send tab.
