    Canon C1 warm up Update

Here is what I have tested ,
It is NOT the JF18 connector
all contacts working and when you disconnect any thing
on the thermos up pops the error,

    J1812 hot side connector
    J1803 neutral on fix roll
    J1804 neutral on fix belt
tested voltage thru all conn on ac supply
    from J1812
    All thermos working

tested J4002 and removed it to see AC relay off/on OK

J1805 for Drum and ITB ac voltage good

    so the connector fix/feed OK
Keep in mind mach is VERY low use and clean

    Display>analog temps room temp

    NO ERRORS on startup
the heat assy is not getting a sig to activate the neutral
for ac to heaters on fix unit.

Nothing will start up until that happens
on the main feed and drum to start up!

    Service manual DU7-1199-101
    Page 9-35
    fig 9-30
shows where the faults can happen

    Hardware timer?
    CPU reset?
    Gate?

    All interlocks look ok
    input feed assy clear
no errors on start up jus goes to "printer warm up"
    No heat to fix assy
all thermos ok on fix unit
Power to Hot on connectors ok but the neutral side
1803,1804 on the PCB are getting the thru voltage to show the conn thru
    is good on each heater.
    all heat elements good

The problem looks as if its in the protection area on Fig 9-30
    but no errors!
    no boards burnt/parts nada
It just stopped after we cleared a jam several times on the bypass feeder.

why don't you try removing the finisher and the punch, then try starting up the machine?

    Hmmmm not a bad Idea!
    thats just a cable conn.
    I will do that now,
    But ST, (short for Screwtape)

    nope no change

I did disconnect the other sensors on the fix drum
the overheat ones that ride on the fix drum and turn it on again nothing.

What happens when you first turn it on
you hear the AC relay(the one that controls the heaters cycle on.
    so the voltage is there.
Then it boots up no errors just stays at printer warming up.
BUT the AC controller or the protection circut seems to not let the triacs
    turn on.

its somewhere in the protection but no errors.

its just a step away from something not letting the triacs turn on the heater voltage.

Just a left field question...do any fans turn on?
For example the ITB fan?...or the rear fixing fan?

Fans do come on at start up
you get used to the sound it makes
its a fast cycle the they go into slow speed.

If i didnt know better there would be just a fuse I didnt see.
Or these service manuals could show all the TP on the AC and DC pwr supply.

Again keep in mind this unit has very little use less that 80K

One thing we thought it was, the drawer connector on the fixer assy.
tested most of the circuits thru it and connector looks new and clean.

this C1 has so many error signals you would think
    OH there it is!

    nada

on boot up cycle everything is fine but the heaters are off.
If one of the other therms on the belt or fix drum were "bad"
or disconnect there should be error code.

So i did that on the high temp ones that are on the belt and drum
one at a time and turn back on and nada
same thing back to warm up cycle and just stays there.

looking for the parts manual for this C1 (cant find the disk anywhere)
    and did a request here.
