Direct IP Printing to Canon Copier

I'm attempting to setup direct IP printing to a Canon copier from a Windows XP client, but I'm having some trouble. With HP hardware, I simply add a printer > choose local printer > create a new standard TCP/IP port > enter the IP > and choose a Generic Network Card if/when the print wizard doesn't find the printer. This seems to work fine for HP devices.

I've tried the same method for a Canon ir2020i copier and it's not working. I've attempted to manually choose the Canon Network Printer and Canon Network Printing Device as the Device Type, but it still won't print. Test page just hangs in the queue.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Payton, Hi ya doing? First post! Welcome.
Have you tried the canon web site.
    Canon U.S.A : Disclaimer

Select the UFRII v2.70 EXE FILE.

    Use the executable file.
After unzipping run the program or use the add printer wizard.

Generic driver won't work you will get a PDL error.

I believe Screwtape is right on the money, UFRII is the normal print mode for these machines, unless PCL printing was added. Using the Canon install wizard will setup the PC just fine, or simply acquire the .inf files and use Windows to install.
