IR 3100C, new toner catridge isn´t good enough ? and E000020-0401

Hello,
now i have a new problem with the Canon IR3100C Copier.
The copier says that i have to install a new black toner catridge.
Ok, i followed the replacement menu and changed the cartridge with a new one... but this machine give me the same error again: "install a new one toner cartridge", the black one of course.
I made the same procedure again with the same, new cartridge. Thought the software may not understand that this is really a new one, perhaps of electrical contact issue or something, but i get the same error again.
What´s wrong with this machine ?

Sometimes it give me also the error code: E000020-0401, sometimes not.
What does this mean ?

E20 : drum/develloper related error.

This copier is really a piece of crap. You have to replace the Develloper unit (black). It will solve your problem. =]

And what does that have to do with the toner cartridge ?

I found the error code list and it says, 0401 is a problem with the ADF/RDF unit ?

I could not find info on the sub code except the 04 which indicates an issue with the Black. Is the code maybe e020-0410? If so the code would indicate damage on ATR sensor, soiling of ATR sensor window, poor developing assembly engagement, open-circuit in ATR sensor

At any rate your best solution would be to push that machine out a window and into the middle of a highway and purchase a better machine.

This error code has nothing to do with the black toner cartridge.
In fact, Its a problem with your black developer or black drum.
Replace the drum or check your black developer assy.
If your not a tech its best to let canon tech check it out.

As for the ADF/RDF. When there is problems with these unit the error codes associated with them are E400's,etc.
This might explain why the info 0401 is coming up with the these units.

This pig has 1 Drum, 4 developers, and as Screwtape mentioned, if you are not a tech,
refer the issue to a qualified technician. This would more than likely be resolved by
installing a new black developer, making sure to stir and supply the developer under
the service modes...

if u are not a tech./better to call a Canon Tech . Need BLK Drum/ & BLK Dev unit- also if u can ck error log for any other e020 colors with same sub code/ could be toned feed clutch locking up

There is only one drum,,, no "Black" drum...
