    C1 image banding Pics

Finally think I got it to work
Here is the pics of B&W and Color banding

The copier was turned off Fri eve
And Monday this showed up with no errors.
After lots of research abd questions
    its not the drum
Magenta dev unit was almost empty
    Yellow too
I am now looking into the units may have been "over filled "
    with toner
The DEV % were way up.

Upon doing a refresh in the Magenta
That color prints and in not in the "band"
the Cyan and K were "full"

Changed the Prim grid and second wires

The image prints some times just fine then this band just shows up!
The B&W was printing perfect, and the color would do this most of the time.
    Drum less than 70K
    DEV units were refreshed 6K
    No leaks
Did see a few error code E0000061-000015
but restarting seemed to stop that

well at least I can post with this pic
    thanks guys
    need help

restart on the Magenta DEV seemed to get rid of the red on this bane problem
you cam see the red on the color in the pic
    now thats gone
this band can move up and down on this image or just not show up at all some times
Just dont think its the drum or the B&W would show the same and the Drum rotation does not match on a full revolution
Almost as if the drum "skips"

Both ways, the band is across the drum about 2"
    the 2" is rough.

In 11x17 the image looks as if it stops on a sharp edge and then the band across.
B&W was printing without the band at all.

I am thinking of restarting the other DEV units.
When I cleaned the Magenta and restarted it that color in the band was gone.
Now also the yellow was also almost empty and i put a little starter in there and the yellow band appeared somewhere else the was gone
in the service mode p5 and print each color the band was there .
the K was solid at first and it even nad a band

If it was the drum damaged it would be every revolution but this is not the case.
its as if the image or something on the laser just stopped on the color.
then sometimes it would print fine.

when u have banding in non image areas/ it could be a firmware issue

    what about the HVT ???
did u just recently flash this printer ????
do the service mode test prints pg 10/ 5 & 6 show banding ???

try reloading the system software and re-flashing the DC CON and R CON.

What kind of starter are u putting in this printer/ sounds like you are experimenting >>>rough feel on image can only mean Starter issue/grounding issue/ HVT issue

Its Canon Starter for this copier!
Did the upgrade and reflash from the PC

Copier was working great then all of a sudden this banding
thats when I looked into the DEV units and found one almost empty!

Banding only on Image areas as you can see in the pic
I think its a starter issue cuz when I restarted the Magenta, that color went away

    Final Answer>>>>>>>>>>>Replace the Hi-V BIAS CABLE >>>FM2-7291-000.
I'll bet the cable is or has damage to it
Bias Cable can effect one color or all colors !!!!

    Hi ST,
I did replace the Prim Grid and Pre trans wires
I am now looking into the HI-V bias cable in the Service manual
    Hey Teckat,

Is that the single wire connector just above the drum assy? Dk orange color
Thanks for you response and interest
One other thing is the Magenta and the Yellow were almost empty after I just did a starter kit on all the colors about 6K ago
    that one has me worried
    No leaks anywhere
it would be all over the inside if it leaked, very clean

You replaced them or did you rewire them?
You did have E61-xxxx. That's drum, primary, potential Control.
Restarting developers is not going to clear or make E61's disappear.
What about pre-Exposure and Pre-conditioning exposure leds array.
