CLC1160 - lots of spot on edge

Hi,

On CANON CLC1160, all copy have lots of dots along left edge.
dots, seems to be waste ink.
There are also spots on the length of the back copies.

the first copies are always good.

Here is a picture of my problem after 5 / 6 copies :

I have already:

-cleaning the cleaning charge unit
-clean out the collector box
-change the 2 TD cleaner brushes

but it's the same problem...

do you have another idea?

What about drum cleaning. Did you change the cleaning blade on the drum cleaning assy.

that looks like your mylar for the drum cleaner unit is stuck under the edge seal and dumping toner down into your paper path, primary assembly and into your developer units.
I would pull your drum unit and everything out of the machine and vaccum all the waste toner up. Make sure your horizontal feed area is clean along with the retention assembly and then check your drum, drum blade, scoop up sheet and ATR assembly as there is probably toner hiding in these places as well.

Made me shudder just thinking about it, I have not had to touch a CLC since earlier this summer. ;-)

I had a CLC that used to grab that mylar just as you described, and it made a mess on that side of the copies. A give-away would be if you pull out the lower assembly that has the 2 small scrapers on it,, if those troughs are full of toner, then you have a problem above....

Its been a while for me as well on a CLC1100 series. I had to think about it for a second or two.
But thats a drum cleaner issue.

*****to add on / inspect those felt supports /front n rear of drum cleaner assmby/ they need to butt edge of clnr blade >change if worn

+ remove the RE-TENSION ROLLER ASSEMBLY/ I will bet u have a mess of waste toner-in and under unit
+ BLADE ASSEMBLY 2/ replace those rubber scrapers on it /
