    canon irc3380i faint copies

Hi guys.I have a canon irc3380i with faint copies. The drums are all new and I fitted a transfer belt from another m/c that I knew was working. If I run a pg 5 and jam the m/c the image on the belt is fine.I have never had a problem with the transfer roller but I feel the fault is in this area.Anyone seen this.?

If you say the image is fine on the ITB, which will be kind of hard to determine the density on a black flim like belt. If you thiink the image is fine on the ITB, then yes you could have a problem with transfer.
Can you post a image of the fault. What's the meter on this unit?

Hi screwtape,There is only 130k on the m/c.When I ran pg 5 I had the density set at the highest setting and there is a strong image on the belt.(only used black and magenta as test.)Also I checked image on the belt when doing an auto grad and that looked fine. This m/c isn't one that I service normally and that doesn't help either cos I'm relying on the guy that does service to be honest in what he has done already.Have you had any issues with the rhs door assembly.? I am going to have another look tomorrow and maybe try that next.

When making copies the image is good on the ITB Belt but the finished copies are light or washed out.

Check the Bias Tabs on the ITB Belt assembly and the Secondary Transfer Roller. They may be bent or broken and not making contact. Repair or replace the contact that is broken.

image is light and washed out overall.
In the past, this issue has been resolved by securing the ground for the ITB. Ensure that the ITB ground wire is firmly attached at HVT2 and the grounding screw at the ITB frame.

Also check contact for the secondary transfer roller it must be touching the transfer roller shaft. /contact should be touching the bottom side of the shaft of the secondary transfer roller.

Remove the screw and then remove the black plastic contact holder shown below.

Verify that the contact is touching the bottom side of the shaft of the secondary transfer roller as shown in the photo below. If it is not reform the contact so that it is touching the shaft.
