    Jam

jam only happens when copying multiple copies and use the stapler, in multi copy without stapler the m/c works just fine. jam occurs after the 1st copy ejected and 2nd copy start to come out

Default values are just a starting point/ every canon model has a starting default value/ that is why they tell u to print out data sheets after an install
there is a factory service mode...i have used it.

what is the point ? I have worked in one of Canon's Engineering Departments, a factory service mode on image Runners is useless in the field.

Product : imageRUNNER 5000 Title : Differences Between the Old (A1) and New (A2) Main Controller PCBs for imageRUNNER 5000 Question :
What are the Differences Between the Old and New Main Controller PCBs for the imageRUNNER 5000?

    Answer :
Differences Between the Old (A1) and New (A2) Main Controller PCBs:
    • The Memory BUS clock speed of the old Main Controller (imageRUNNER 5000) runs at 100MHz base. The Memory BUS clock speed of the new Main Controller (imageRUNNER 5000d and imageRUNNER 6000) runs at 133MHz base.
    • The old (A1) and new (A2) Main Controller PCBs can be distinguished by the number of the Boot ROM slots. The old Main Controller has two Boot ROM slots (Boot ROM is installed vertically), while the new Main Controller has only one slot (Boot ROM lies flat).
    • The old Main Controller PCB is equipped with memory (DIMMs) that are based on PC100 standards, while the new Main Controller PCB is equipped with memory that is based on PC133 standards.
Note: The memory DIMMs are not interchangeable. The memory from the old Main Controller PCB cannot be used on the new Main Controller PCB.
Exclusive System Software, Boot ROM, RUI, and Hard Drive Format files are used for the old and new (not interchangeable).
    • Upgrading the firmware requires a Service Support Tool whose version is 1.25Ee or later.
The registration system name for the firmware is 'iR5000d' when using the Service Support Tool for the new.
The ID label for the system name (iR5000d) of the firmware is attached to the upper right of the service log found behind the front cover. In addition, a press on the Counter Check key in the control panel will cause the notation to be indicated in the lower left of the touch panel.
    • A press on the Counter Check key on the control panel will bring up a newly added soft key called the “Device Config.” key. Pressing the Device Config. key causes the following version and device information to be indicated as in service mode:
    - Main board version (part revision number of the Main Controller PCB)
    - Controller version (MN-CONT/BOOT-ROM/DC-CON)
    - Scanner version (R-CON/FEEDER)
    - Finisher version (SORTER/SDL-STCH)
    - Device information
(The notations are as shown in parentheses.)

    • The copier model and PDL model are differentiated by the type of Boot ROM that is installed.
    • Upgrading the PDL requires a Multi PDL Printer Kit-A2.
    .
    • The PDL function has a higher level of performance, and the RIP1 board is not required. The PDL job throughput of the new Main Controller PCB without the RIP1 PCB is greater than the old Main Controller.
