    black streaks and smudges from lead to trail. watched letter going through and lifting up off sep onto the drum pick off claw guide creating the lines and smudges throughpout the copy. i tried to adjust seperation voltage and even maxed it to 500 but no change. replaced the sep cws still no change. the ts assly is relatively new replaced 2 months ago and they produced about 9k since. how can i get the paper to stay down flat to the transfer bed on this one. no codes listed. thanks t

    I checked the database. There were several entries for shorted separation transfer corona blocks, and nothing else. You might try the HVT or high voltage leads to the bed. Personally I've never seen a bad one on ir550/600. How many millions of prints? =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    what about the transfer/sep charg unit / sounds like poor separation
    a functioning machine reads this >
    Copier>Display>HV-STS the following values are normally displayed in micro amps:
    Primary = 1004
    Pri-Grid = 670 Volts
    Pre-Tr = 99
    TR = -400
    SP = 262
    BIAS = 280 Volts

    Did you try lowering the transfer charge? I've had some success with doing that. I would also check the separation connection on the machine rear frame. The copper tabs should be relatively close to eachother, if not the sep assembly may not contact well. Also make sure the separation fan is working properly.

    Seen alot of fans die on these machines,but it sounds like it is not even getting separation if its hitting the drum claws. Like stated,monitor the HVT currents to see if you are getting separation. I had a 9070 that had papers going into cleaner module....no separation...had to cut ty-wraps from harness plugging into HV at rear of machine from Dcon...control signals.
