clean out the developer assembly of any toner . then add new toner it could just be paper dust.
a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one

I read where you changed the developer unit my question is are they using generic toner? And did the unit you changed have generic toner? I had this problem one time and determined it was the generic toner which I have used for years but could of gotten a bad batch.

    Just a thought.

No generic toner. And the same exact specks showed up with the different developing unit.
    Thanks

    Kuby,
I know that sometimes I over look the lint thingy that collects lint from the registration roller. Everytime I pull it out I get a lot of little white spots on the
first few copies. May be it is time to remove the mylar and vac the registration roller. That may account for the spots on the drum also. And doing
a toner stir just puts more toner on the dv roller and the lint probably gets buried untill the excess is depleated.
    Just another straw to grab

    Good luck

    DR

Just a thought, because I wouldn't have a huge amount of experience on these m/cs but what about looking at paper dust in reg area or even before ..If the customer is using poor quality paper and that area isn't being cleaned paper dust can pollute the m/c.

    Kuby,
You say you got the spects while running a black test copy from service mode. Why would the ccd adjust fix that? Isn't the ccd only used when
    making copies?

??? I just know it fixed it. Magic I guess...the copier Gods said let it be healed and running the ccd-adj seemed to make the spots go away.. Now they may come back but I went by the customers office today and it still looked good.

    PFM,
I love it because it fixes things, I hate it 'cause it usually does not make sense right away. It represents a piece of the puzzle with no image on it,
it fits perfectly but something is missing.
Usually the reason will surface later with another symptom.
Guess we'll have to wait and see.
