Meter about 130,000 and was bought used so not sure if developers have already been replaced or not. New drum installed and xfer cleaning unit adjusted to increase cleaning blade tension on ITB. This helped a lot with streaking. These machines soil patch sensor a lot if drum is old or developer is weak or if ITB not cleaned properly. (Canon modified the itb cleaning unit design some time ago to compensate part # FM2-0082-110) I'm also thinking about playing around in service mode with an adjustment that controls fogging to see if machine will run cleaner. I believe there is a way to estimate the mileage on the developers using electrical values from service mode - Dens-s which of reveal the ratio of carrier to toner . What does anyone think of adjusting OFST in svc mode ? (to reduce fogging)
System Software 30.06 & 30.07 modified sevice mode & other machine parameters to help with this.
found it / u need at least system firmware v30.22 for this mod to apply ="Modification to data which controls image density"./
new firmware is now 40.01a/ DCON v19.01/ RCON 52.01/BOOT 9.01/ALL &ALL-HDF v40.01
***Before registering the new imageRUNNER C3170 System Software v40.01a,
uninstall the “ALL” & “ALL_HDF” batch files previously installed in the
Service Support Tool so that the new “ALL” & “ALL_HDF” batch files which
include DCON v19.01 and RCON v52.01 install correctly.
***In preparations for the New Flash ROM, Canon USA is advising all dealers to
