Interesting problem on IR C3170 because the scanner scans fine but copies washed uot looking when made from both glass & Doc Feeder. Would have suspected CIS if scans were light also but they look good. Any ideas?

make calibration (full adjust)
Already tried full adjust - copies still look light & washed out - prints & scans just fine. I'm thinking circuit board (rcon or mcon)
that is no any error?
also you make cleaning inside main unit or not ?
from add. funct. - adjustment/cleaning-Exposure recalibration make it
I just dealt with a similar issue, I had a trainee with me and he asked me if I cleaned the optics :0 they looked fine! but after a quick clean problem solved..........
We had a new one doing the same thing, prints were fine but off the glass were terribly light. Change the resolution from Photo/Text to Text. Made that the default.
Switching text / photo mode to straight text helped some . Then adjusting other values in service mode improved image even more.... finished with another full gradiation adjust in add. func & image looks more or less ok. Thanks for your comments everyone. One remaining issue... first thing in the morning copies are light but image improves & darkens as the day progresses... Xfer roller in right side door assy degrading but after charging up throughout the day responds better to charge? Should I replace charge roller ? Thanks again for comments -- you guys are the best- Robert Blaze
