    Canon ir3030 - bypass problem

Have a ir3030 and when you put paper in the bypass and select the bypass and copy from the bypass - everything is fine. The problem is when trying to print to the copier from a computer. It will not pull from the bypass. When you select (from the computer) the bypass, it says no paper and does not know what kind of paper is in the bypass. Is there a way to make it feed from the bypass through the computer? A doctors office is wanting to put some kind of insucance form in the bypass. What do I check on to see if it is set right? I have checked everything I know to try. Anyone have this problem before?

I always run into this with clients.
I tell them to first set up the bypass on the machine and then select the bypass from the driver and print.

The size and type that the print job is asking for has to match the size and type in the bypass otherwise you will get a mismatch error aka "load paper". It doesn't necessarily mean it is out of paper just that it can't find any matching paper.

Right click on the printer-> properties-> Device Settings tab-> Form to tray assignment, set bypass type. I'd select every type except plain and click ok then apply. If this doesn't work then the print driver is being overridden by the program. If they are just printing from MS Office programs you can change the page setup defaults, but it sounds like they are using some non-microsoft app to print from, Meditec by any chance? Those programs override the print driver size/type/tray settings and of course you have no access to these files to know how they were setup. You just have to use trial and error when you tell the copier what paper type is in the bypass. I've had good luck with telling the copier there is Recycled or Color paper in the bypass.

They are trying to print on letter size paper. I have set the bypass for letter size paper. It will pull from bypass when copying but not when printing from a windows computer.
