    Canon 105 Registration

    hi,
In one of my 105's after 10 prints A4 in duplex mode the registration of lead edge changes and the print gets cut off.

Ive changed the registration assembly, the 3 clutches on the back Pre-registration clutch, Pre-registration brake clutch , Manual feed tray pickup clutch.

Ive tried different trays and have the same issue.

any advise whould be great. Ive cleared the Ram also.

this happens in both , 1st side and 2nd side. I will check the duplex feed assembly also just in case. but there is no timing delays and i dont get any paper jams.

It's been awhile since I saw a 105/8500/7200, but, they have those foam backup rollers in the vertical path, as well as the one in the duplex path on the right side. These all can suffer compression after awhile, and will alter the paper timing, and , or, cause jamming issues.

are you saying the registration varies? or is it off the same on each page? Also when you said you changed the reg assembly your saying the entire assmbly, guides, frame, rollers?

    ELECTRICAL>
Corrupt settings in service mode may cause the lead edge to vary. Perform a DCON clear in service mode.
Input door specs for service mode>ADJUST from P-PRINT or door label. Overwrite values even when the correct value is listed.
    Reset out of service mode.
Power down on control panel and then power off machine using switch on the right side.
Power up machine and check values under service mode >DISPLAYS>VERSION to confirm the correct value is displayed. Test for registration issue and confirm it has been resolved.

    MECHANICAL>
Confirm that all recommended durable parts have been replaced and the machine is clean and adjusted to specification. Varied cross feed registration may be the result of the paper source (cassette/paper deck) having play in the side guides. As the paper stack is pushed in and pulled out, the side guide may get farther out of position resulting in increased variance, confirm the deck or cassette side guides are tight and not bowed.

The registration guide may become bowed while pulling the transport off the rails if the guide is depressed too hard when removing. Pull the transport all the way out and using a feeler gauge, check to make sure the entrance guide to the transport has the same gap in the front, middle and rear. Adjust bowing of guide if needed.

u probably have done these checks /
