'Adjusting waiting to scan' message in display after start is pressed. Performed firmware update per Canon, which is supposed to fix this problem. It didn't. Anybody else see this and have a solution?

Don't take that toner with me!
I haven't seen it on this machine, but the last time I encountered this message was due to the person trying to scan to a laptop running Vista with only 1GB of RAM. The size of the image and the size of running Vista caused the virtual memory to max out forcing the laptop to write to the hard disk - then process - then write a bit more causing the machine (iR2022i) to lock up.
The only way we got around it was to get the laptop more RAM. (At the customers expense as this wasn't covered under a service contract!)

I wish it were that simple, this baby does it with nothing connected, and no print, fax, or scanner jobs pending. Just press the "GO" button from copy mode and it happens.
