Hi everybody, I have been able to get into the service mode using the *28*. It must have been the sticky key. So, when I tried pressing hard, it worked. Anyway, I have cleared the error by Copier>Function>Clear>Err>OK and then reboot. But, the error remains. I think I will just order a fuser and try again. My only doubt is, when rebooted the copier with the front door open, it still came up with the E00007-000 error. I was expecting it to show "the front door Open message". Because, the fuser voltage will not be applied if the front door is open. Strange. Thanks a lot for all your help.

These things do happen when we trouble shoot.
Wise choice or no choice, its best to order the fuser unit.

It's it just fuser film that needs to be replaced? Films aren't that expensive in my neck of the woods.

E007 does not need to be reset like a E001

/agree with others you likely have a bad fixing film. There are some third party (Katun) fixing films out there you can get or at worst, a fixing film unit.

While in there, check to make sure the pressure roller surface is smooth and that it has not become detached from the core of the roller.

I have had a look at the fixing film and it looks fine and the pressure roller also looks fine. My multimeter has been playing up and therefore I couldn't test the resistance. Fixing film is about $20 more than the fusing unit. I couldn't find any cheap ones in Australia. I am waiting for Monday to order the fuser unit. I think there will be 5 days delay after that. I will keep you all posted.

Many many thanks to everybody who gave their inputs. I have just replaced the fuser assembly and everything worked fine. I didn't even have to clear the error.
