did you have this specific manual for iPF605?. I have only a service manual iPF6000 series, but there I can't find voltages for the sensors.

when I'm going to service mode, the same error comes (E196-404E)!
I can't enter the service mode to reset the error....
update: The voltage at sensor is too low. It must be 3.3V there are only 1V. Measuring at the power supply and the two voltages there comes out, are also tooo small....must see...

Check for a change of state for sensor.
Sensor has three leggs.
Ground, Signal Change, Supply
Best to check Signal change output in connector from board, & not across load (photo sensor itself)

G'day,
My canon IPF8100 printer was working perfectly until I recently upgraded the firmware.
Since then it is throwing massive errors in relation to the heads.
I have noticed this is a common issue with the new firmware and many have solved the problem by downgrading to firmware 1.34
Unfortunately, I cannot find this firmware anywhere as Canon has deleted all of it's old firmware
If anyone could please direct me on where I could access firmware 1.34 or any other possible solution it would be greatly appreciated.
This has cost me 4 business days already and I am very eager to get this printer working again.
Thanks in advance,

Thank you for this, I am well aware.. 1.43 is what has caused this issue in the first place, I need to downgrade
Please refer to my thread: Canon IPF 8100 - Firmware downgrade
Or PM If possible
Thank you!
Hello
I too have a Canon iPF605 with the ever-present "Close Upper Cover" message (and of course it is closed).
I also fear that the inevitable end will be to replace the main board. But until then, I have endlessly been researching my options.
In my effort to try the L Printer Service tool (V 1.50) to update the firmware (Service mode does not work/am able to get it to Download Mode) I can only get as far as the "Setup" step for which it says that my operating system is not supported. This is not true as I have the correct FUT/Firmware/OS and have tried them on multiple computers but yet it still will not budge.
So does anyone have any advice on these two subjects?
1) What to do about the operating system fault? (Is there another version that I could use? I have multiple different operating systems including Windows 7 64/Vista/Mac)
2) Should this not work, could it be my cover switch voltage?/What would be the best route to fixing it?
Thanks so much!
