    Canon lc-710 squealing noise

    Hi Peeps,
Customer says she replaced the cartridge and all of a sudden fax machine starts making a horrible sound.
I get there and after it goes through warm up and starts to print from memory it makes a real loud squealing noise.
I put the old cartridge back in and it makes the same noise. She says it wasnt making the noise with the old cartridge before.
Sounds like its coming from the area below the cartridge. Everything seems to be moving freely.
Even took out fixing assy to and it was ok.
    Any ideas?

    Laser Class 710 / 720i / 730i

Check the gear assembly (Item 14) in the paper feed section for wear and replace if necessary.

(This illustration is from Figure 15 in the parts manual)

also check that the right side registration roller bushing is not out of position > causing the gear driven end of the registration roller shaft to mesh poorly with the main drive gear. Moved the bushing to the correct position.

I'm also having this issue right now. I just replaced the laser from an HP 2200 because they both have the same hardware. I'm not sure what else the issue could be.
