I have 2 Canon 2200 series copiers doing exactly the same thing and nobody in my branch has heard of this noise. It doesn't happen all the time only after a large copy job is run or after the copier gets a few copy jobs run on it so it's hot. All the jobs that were run were simplex. One of the copiers is a base machine and the other has an internal finisher. After the copy job finishes there is a whine noise that I can best describe as a low cry or cow moo sounding. It almost sounds like a motor or fan powering down and it is coming from the back side of the machine near the fusing exhaust fan/laser scanner unit area. Now I have replaced the following items on the machine with no avail:
Fixing Assemby
Fusing Exhaust Fan
Laser scanner unit
Drum
I have tested the output of each of the 14 motors available for testing in service mode and none make the noise that I'm hearing.
Anyone come across this I am puzzled and I haven't seen anything in navi either on this.
