Canon IR5050 How do you set up for scanning?

Canon IR5050 How do you set up for scanning to email and to computer. I would like it to scan to my network drive and I enter the info but no go, I don't really know how to do this, I need step by step instructions. I also installed scangear, and it sees the copier/scanner but now what do I do?

In order to scan to email and or a file folder on your network.

The machine must have universal send.

Using scan gear will just pull scan to a desktop. It will not email or scan to file.

To use the network scangear go over to your touch screen and push the scan tab at the top and turn it "online" this will allow you to scan to your desktop using any program that is twain compliant.

Yes the machine has the options installed, universal send. I did the above with the scangear and microsoft office document scanning but nothing happens.

open your scangear tool and test your connection. I would also try a different program.
