Yes, I'd heard the Nethawk didn't work with 7, so I've been connecting via TCP/IP - which worked fine before replacing the HDD.
One of my guys is bringing his XP laptop in, so I'll load SST on it, then the system software & give it a try.
your 4570 firmware could just be bad/
when u remove/delete all the imageRUNNER 2270/4570/3570/2870 Firmware using SST DELETE FIRMWARE/
AND then u go into C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder\SST Files\iR2270_v40.03 -and Delete that entire Folder.
make sure u have a copy of v40.03 somewhere else on laptop/ then go through the normal procedure of OPENING the v40.03 .exe , store back in C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder\SST Files- Open SST search
for the iR2270_v40.03 Folder/ click & Register it. see below pic

Yes teckat, those are the exact steps I used to register it, after deleting all the data and folders, then re-downloading everything. I have no idea why it's not working, but I'll try a different PC and report back!

OK, when registering the system software, can I just register the ALL and ALL HD Format files, or do I also need to register each individual file?
Highlight iR2270_v40.03 folder click on search/ u will see a notation new firmware/ above it u will see boxes check/ that means u need to need to Register all/ just click on Register/ ALL THE checked boxes will be downloaded
after they register, u will see a pane to left confirming all

OK, well registering the files in that method made them appear in the list without any error messages...but I'm still getting the SST E240 code in reference to the HDFormat.ift file stating: "Module : SendFile() - 5"
Still waiting on an XP laptop, will try that next.
