As the fuser periodically rotates during standby it makes a noticable (not loud) rattling noise. Is there a known part or parts that need to be replaced or is this just normal for the IR5570? Thx

I have had the lower fuser bearings make noise. Or the shaft they ride on gets worn
Yes, I am here to fix your machine. No, your machine went out of warranty 18 years ago.
I only have a couple of them in the field, but it could be the shutter inside the upper fuser roller. I know it moves depending on what size paper is being run but not sure about during standby.
I also have had a couple of shutter issues giving noise with these.
Most recently I had the shutter HP sensor come off it holder ( PS53 ) causing the shutter to chatter constantly. This machine also had , I think , E840's in the history.
Also on that one I remember the noise continued even after the front door was opened , only stopping when unit 1 was pulled out.
As said , the LFR bearings can also make noise.
Yes, I am a nerd.
Gaming PC - check. Raspberry Pi - Check. Custom ROM on phone - check. Thick glasses - check.
check the lower fuser roller, after some time, it gets dents, causing the rattling noise
If sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions!
Replace the lower roller.
Part# FM2-4683-000 (Newer Type) Comes with the bearings.

Thank you for the helpful responses. I did replace LFR and bearings. This did not fix the noise. It appears the noise is in the upper fuser assembly or the feeder assembly (transport). I did not have time to track it down and will have to tackle it later. Thx again.
Check the gears in the upper fixing assy.
Could also be the shutter inside the fixing roller.
But there usually an error code associated when the shutter go haywire.

Check for error codes, E840, E14.
UFR gears on both ends crack all the time....machine will click or knock. The front gear turns the UFR, the rear gear drives the transport gear for the belts. Usually see a slight smear on long paper(jerks paper during transfer)
