If possible in the Current "Advance" line and previous 2 generations.

Well, probably the best quality/maintenance ratio is in the Advance C5000-series. In the C5051 it's possible to connect the ColorPASS-GX300, wich improves the quality (only in printing, of course). I don't have any personal experiences with the C7000 or the C9000 -series, but I reckon that they do require lot more maintenance.

But if you can cope with more maintenance than usual copiers, then you should see the imagePRESS C1+
The quality is miles above the Advance -series!

These are my opinions; I hope they help you to decide!

Edit: The best machines from the previous models are absolutely the CLC3200/3220 and the iRC3200/3220. Difference between the CLC and iRC is the embedded Fiery print controller in CLC -model. The ADF ain't so good in those models, but the print engine is good!

Agree with what has been said above. But the question is a little open ended

Yes , the print engine on the CLC3200 is great , but these are a little long in the tooth now. The C1+ is awesome, but expensive and would really need to be on a service contract.

I am a big fan of the IRA9000 series , but again its not a cheap bit of kit and a little bit more labour intensive.

The quality of the IRA5051 is well above what its cost suggests. As long as its the 45/51 speed model and has an external finisher. And yes you can hang a Fiery off the back of those.

The best copier for you is one wich you know!
Canon CLC3200/3220 are really good machines.Have great quality and are very strong machines, but they can be at a moment the worst copiers all over the world.
The idea is a good copier is a copier you know it and you can fix it.
You can use CLC3200/3220 to print from 50 gsm to 300 gsm,but when you print in two sides with 300 gsm paper, you must have a good fuser,or it shows you some dirty lines.
If you buy a new one,it will be the best copier all over the world!

iR4080i Good machine if maintained with a service sch. set up and not abused by customer.
bad point is still Fix Unit

u can't beat the imagePress 6000/7000 for image quality on all types of stock.
but it needs a Canon trained tech to service the product

What are you planning to do?

What kind of work do you want to do?

The 4080 is a good machine but the fixing heater unit cost a lot.
