or see if u can Find a Canon USB to Parallel Interface Cable
    FY9-4368-000

is the ONLY USB to Parallel Interface Cable that will function with the Service Support Tool. This cable is supported on Windows 98, 2000, and XP ONLY.
The driver for the USB to Parallel Interface Cable must be installed on your PC for the cable to function

I have always had a ball ache getting the Canon Nethawk USB-Parallel cable working properly. Or more accurately getting it installed correctly.

If you have a spare slot , then the PCMCIA / Parallel card and a normal Bi-Centronics cable is your best bet.
    These also can be generic.
    Yes, I am a nerd.

If it is IEEE1284 compliant, it is O.K. Most people think a parallel cable is a parallel cable, but a plain printer cable will not do.
