If you want to have the ability to view the documents at the desktop you must use the RUI (Remote User Interface). All files sent to the mailbox are stored in the JBIG file format. In order to begin viewing documents page by page, an end-user must install the RUI (Remote User Interface) JBIG Viewer. This is a plug-in for Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator and there is a PC version and a Mac version.

Not too bad for teeny tiny files, but painfully slow and clunky on larger ones.

If I understand his question, he is looking to back up the mailbox contents, not view them. I believe the answer for that is no,, there is no way on that old of a copier to backup the mailbox contents. The new Advanced B/W as well as Color units have that ability,,, but not the old iron...

    Good point, MrFixit,

If that's the case he may be best off to actually print the contents of the mailboxes, then scan them on with whatever device that's available.
