I've seen this many times. A test would be if it does it from trays 1, 3 and 4 and not tray 2. Tray 2 bypasses this clutch. A sure test!

    October 26, 2007 Product : imageRUNNER 7086 / 7095 / 7095 Printer / 7105 Title : Intermittent black copies with the image on it. Problem :
Intermittent black/negative image with a halo effect on the text.

    Solution :
Tray 1 Vertical feed clutch CL8 had metal shavings around it, causing electrical feedback to the machine.
Cleaning up the area and replacing CL8 resolved the black copies.

    More CL8 INFO>
    imageRUNNER 7105 / 7095 / 7095 / 7086

imageRUNNER produces a 0101 jam code when making copies from deck one.
The jam code 0101 is produced due to CL8 not turning the feed roller. This code is occurs because the tab that secures the clutch is broken. To resolve this issue the feed assembly must be replaced. The part number for the feed assembly is FG9-3889-010

Product : imageRUNNER 7086 / 7095 / 7105 Title : An 0214 Jam is Occurring, When Using the Right Paper Deck, Cassette 3 or Cassette 4
    Problem :
The jam 0214 occurs when feeding paper using the right paper deck, cassette 3 or cassette 4. Paper fed from the manual feed tray or the left paper deck runs properly without jamming.

    Solution :
The main motor drives all of the vertical path rollers. The vertical path 1 rollers, which rotate when the CL8 clutch energizes, are used when paper travels from the right paper deck, cassette 3 or cassette 4. Paper traveling from the manual feed tray, left paper deck and duplex unit do not use these rollers.

The CL8 clutch was checked in service mode COPIER>FUNCTION>PART CHECK>CL number 7 and tested OK. In this case, the Right Deck Feed sensor, PS27 was replaced to resolve the issue.
