Check the developer unit as i said in the first post.
Check the blade on developer unit, close to magnetic roller.\
It dont let the toner to fill the magnetic roller.

The problem came after you made a PM.

Remove the glass between the laser and the drum..it slides out and see if it has any affect. Lasers go bad on these units alot

I bet tinnyjay could be right. check the position of the DOCTOR BLADE on the magnetic roller, it is very instrumental in controlling the quantity of toner dispensed on the magnetic roller and consequently the amount transferred to the drum. check that there's also proper contact between Dev unit and drum. Finally from the many reports going on this forum, it appears CANON LASER UNITS have a high FAILURE RATE, i suggest a technical report about this issue be compiled and forwarded to the factory for their consideration. what do think - teckat ?

See if there is a canon dealer in the area and hopefully it won't cost you anything. If there isn't, which is possible; then put in writing a request for a replacement laser unit. Don't be threatening, but be assertive-aggressive. If they don't give you one, you can always get progressively nastier and file something on them. Let them know you mean business.

You have to be stern in this world. Nobody will hand you anything on a silver platter.
