The guy my IT guy spoke to said it might be normal. I just cant see how this could be normal, I cant see how on a 13k machine a customer would have to wait 120 seconds after the machine has been sitting for over a half an hour to make a copy.

Warm-up Time: 30 Seconds or less from Main Power Off or Sleep Mode

Check your Fixing Frame Connector, for any stuck paper in machine frame connector

also remove the fixing unit & inspect connections

check fix temperature in service mode

check wall outlet for correct voltage / also check your neutral to GD

Ground to Neutral Checked on a 120 VAC Wall Outlet?

Below are two examples of where to place your meter leads to measure ground to neutral on 120VAC wall outlets.
Through experience it has been determined that less than .5 volt AC should be measured between ground and neutral. If absolute zero is measured then it may be an indication that the ground is not connected or that some other problem may exist within the outlet.
Note: This is not a machine or a Canon specification.
Also note: Outlet readings utilizing a "hand held" circuit meter are only a "snapshot" of the voltage at the time of the reading. Fluctuations, spikes, surges and drops in voltage sometimes require a long term reading such as can be achieved with a line monitor

Check drum heater sleep settings in service mode....COP>OPT>BODY...DHON<DHOF should all be 0 by default. Machine might be waiting for drum to warm up, turn off potential control to see if it affects it as stated. Also STNBY_TM is set to 0

I did a d-con clear and an MN-con clear, now from a power off to ready I got 30 seconds but still in standby after 30 minutes I get now 120 seconds, a little bit less but still...

Tomorrow it will be out in the field in normal conditions as right now it is in a garage (my shop) with no humidity control and cooler temps.

Will let you know in a day or two

I hope u put back all your settings from your P PRINTS / USED Data print outs for DCON & RCON

I tested the machine afterward s and all looked and ran good, but to answer your question, no I did not. I was told that if I had any issues just put back the values on the door panel

U need to always keep a paper copy of those settings - is is called a P PRINT.

when u clear DCON or RCON they default to Canon testing numbers, those standard testing numbers are different in shipped printers, that is why those door specs need to be put back in for your DCON settings.

I would print out the P PRINT SETTINGS and compare them to the Door specs. - The Original door specs take precedent for each printer. After u check and put in the Original specs/ print out a new P PRINT to keep with printer.

I have to reopen this because now the customer is complaining and holding some money from the sale.

    I ruled out:

    1) AC outlet and voltage
    2) finisher unit
    3) firmware upgrade
    4) Sleep timers
    5)COP>OPT>BODY...DHON<DHOF should all be 0 by default.Also STNBY_TM is set to 0
6)Check your Fixing Frame Connector, for any stuck paper in machine frame connector

Now the only thing that seemed to work was turning off potential sensor, the machine works fast however, I pick up a copy quality problem. Slight shading like it is over exposed and making exposure lighter or darker does not do anything.

    My question would be
    1) is there any long term issue or problems I should be concerned with by turning drum pot off?

    2) how can I adjust the quality with the drum pot off?

what is the 5055 firmware ver. ?
what is the finisher firmware ver. ??
check the values for dpot - what are they ??

change energy consumption in sleep to high

change power save mode to none
disable MULTICAST DISCOVERY in TCP-IP settings

The default setting for PO-CTMD is "2" which causes the potential control to do a normal potential control, adding approximately thirty seconds to the first copy speed.

To speed up the copy process go into service mode level 2 and under Option>Body>PO-CNTMD, enter "1". This will make the machine do a simplified potential reading, thus speeding up the copy process . Don't forget to turn machine off and back on after changing settings.

Do not run this printer with potential off. !!!!!

That is for testing CQ issues.

what is customer complaint now ??
