I tried yesterday with the settings which you mentioned above but with no success.

Just to remind you that i have an Active Directory and the location which i want to save the scan files is part of that active directory.

So to the favourites button i choose:

    1) File as SMB
    2) host name ALUNE , which is the name of the computer where i want to save the files
    3) file path is Scanned Documents , From the windows explorer i can see the location mentioned with \\alune\Scanned Documents
The location is shared with permission to everyone at the network and, security to everyone Full rights
    4) as user name i have used a domain admin and a local user both with no success.

Do i need to have a user name since the location is shared with permission to everyone?

    Thx in advance
Where is the location of the shared folder?

Check if you see folder from another computer.
    Check permissions for folder.
    Check firewall settings.
Try to create a folder on disc D:
Switch and router can be problem too.

If you have an AD with user Authentication then a valid username and password would be needed to access folder.

I may read too much and understand too little - but that does not stop me. My answer assumes your OS is not Win7 or Mac.

From long ago I seem to remember that Canon and AD do not work together because of something to do with the Canon unit is not being "verified" as a device - and there was no official fix. MS said it was a Canon problem, Canon said it was a MS problem.

Only way I myself have been able to get them to play nice:
    1. Disconnect the target computer from the network and reboot to force a local logon.
    2. Create a local user called SCANNER (or whatever), make it an administrator, set password to Ilike2makeScans, set password to never expire.
    3. Create a folder called Scans at the root level (C:\Scans) and share it.
    4. Reconnect to the network and reboot - sign in like normal.
    5. On the target machine, configure to scan a file using SMB to the shared folder (like others have described) and use SCANNER as the userID and Ilike2makeScans as the password.

This process works and has the added benefit of freaking out your IT security people.
