    LC710 random "check document" message

This unit is set up in a fairly busy location. Randomly when trying to fax they will get a "check document" message and the fax will stop with paper still in the DF. This also happens when doing copies. We have replaced the DF rollers and the unit seemed to work okay for a short while but we are getting the messages again. This unit does not have the 2nd line installed (looked at some of the old posts on this machine for similar problems). We are going to bring it in and start swapping components from our parts machine but was hoping someone might have a quick check that I can do first.

Thank you for your time and effort in this matter.

    No problemo dude.

Its a typical issue for this model. You must grease an ARM and SEPARATION MOTOR.(look the picture).

Make sure #3 in diagram hs enlarged hole where screw goes thru. I seen the pick up roll lifter motors go bad(just like np recirculating motors. Does the pickup roll assembly keep coming down after first sheet is fed? It should lower for the first sheet then pretty well stay up for the rest of the stack.Does the machine have all the mods?(Lifter arm hole, different spring for lower sep roll).

The pickup roller comes down on the initial sheet and then stays up for the rest of the copies. Not sure about the mods as this is a model that my boss picked up. We really like them though. Thank you for the quick response and information. Will be going that way tomorrow so will come in handy!

Having a similar issue with one. At times the feed arm does not drop down for the first page. Weirdly I did put a meter on the motor and had someone hit the copy/print button. When the motor did not engage there was no voltage across the soldered motor leads(red/black) When the moor actiually engaged and the arm dropped there was a 17 vdc drop across the motor. Now for the question. Does this indicate a bad motor or a bad controller board. Thanks for the help in advance.
