IR5870c rear drum bearing fell off.

I had some uneven gradation cross feed, after alot of searching, discovered the bearing fell of the drum and was hanging on the drum shaft in the back of the machine.

Refitted the bearing on the drum and put everything back where it should. I wondered if the bearing would stay in possition now, or does it need something to hold it it its place?

that bearing should not have came lose - see info below>

The bearing is manufactured as part of the Drum Shaft Retaining Plate,
therefore it is not available as a single part.
The part number for the Drum Shaft Retaining Plate with bearing is
    FL2-1400-000.

Part number for the Drum Shaft Bearing/ The part is illustrated below.

Having a look at the part in the Part Catalog, i don't think thats the part i'm talking about. Thats a mounting plate behind the drum shaft assy.

I need to know about the bearing on the rear of the drum itself. Sadly it's non existent in parts catalog. Not on the the drum fig. 510, neather on the process unit (ap kit fig. 600).

I just hope it stay's there in possition.

I believe you are talking about the bearing that is pressed into the AP unit on the rear plate. There is not a part number for that bearing and I have seen it come loose many times on this wonderful machine. Luckliy we have a steady stream of trade ins on this model to swap the assembly with. You have to get in touch with Canon tech support in order to get your hands on a new one and they are very expensive. I thought I saved the part number, but I can not locate it at this time.

pressed huh? Maybe i just glue it to the drum. I'll never replace the drum on that machine anyway.
