Smile “Insert Waste Toner Container” on a IRC3880

    “Insert Waste Toner Container” IRC3880
I have this message on an IRC3880, tried a new bottle, and cleaned the waste toner full sensor. Powered the machine on/off, still have the message!
It happened after the customer replaced the Black & Magenta toners. It also had a new black drum about 5k ago.
Any issues I should know about?
    Many thanks.

In this instance, the sensor was dirty and this generated the message.

To clean or replace PS11 the black hopper drive assembly must be removed, the procedure for removing the hopper drive assemblies can be found on page 10-21 of the service manual.

Below is a picture of PS11 and the flag on the spring loaded sleeve.

Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

U need to clean/check the bottle detection sensor/

"Insert the Waste Toner Container" message is displayed on the control panel.
The waste toner bottle is detected by sensor PS11 and is located on the top of the waste toner auger. There is a spring loaded sleeve with a flag around the waste toner auger. When the bottle is present it will push the sleeve thereby unblocking PS11.
When PS11 fails or is dirty, the message to insert the waste toner bottle will be displayed.

Sensor probably dirty and this generated the message.
To clean or replace PS11 the black hopper drive assembly must be removed

Blow it out with a straw....1 minute fix. I usually stick a straw on the end of my vacuum hose(i have nozzle attachment). Don't need to disassemble anything
