    IR3035 - Morning, Intermittent Jams -108

I have a IR3035, that jams several times in the morning and sometimes at the end of the day.Thae paper jams half way thru, exiting the fuser assy.Lead edge is flat when you unjam it, and the trail edge is accordian folded.I replaced sensor P14,complete fuser assy, even tried replacing the entire right hand door assy. Copier has 70K on it and was running fine since install, 6 months ago. Happens on both upper and lower tray. Jam code is 108.Any ideas?

The copies z-fold and crease, when exiting the fixing assembly.
Perform the following in Service Mode to correct this issue.

Service Mode: COPIER > ADJ > FEED ADJ > LOOP CST. Set Loop CST to a lower value.

    Note:
The default is 63; with a range of -128 to +127.

    or check
Replace the Flapper Damping Pads. The pads compress and effect the position of the Flapper resulting in an intermittent paper hesitation on single copies.

Check the operation & condition of the Fixing delivery reverse flapper

    or check
Paper jams just after the fixing assembly or Z folds. Inspect the 2nd Delivery Frame Assembly. It is possible for the bearing, pictured BELOW on the operator side of the machine, to drop out of the frame. This bearing is on the end of the 2nd Vertical Path Roller .

Reposition bearing back in frame. If there is excessive end play insert shim washer between the bearing and (E-clip)

Sounds like a Mains AC input voltage and frequency fluctuations, especially frequency deviations from the norm.USE A DIGITAL METER to check the above parameters both off and on load periods, in the morning, day, and at/ or before end of day. Draw conclusions from the results. You may then move on to the power supply board and " troubleshoot" ? if need be. Try as much as possible to eliminate possibility of power fluctuation before moving onto other areas. Could the mains supply connections in the building be overloaded at those times the machine malfunctions?

The rubber flapper dampers in the door cause this, flapper gets stuck in the rubber pads during the night. Then after a few jams the flapper becomes movable en machine operates fine.

    Remove or replace them.
