    GP605 E100

From the SM E100 appear related with scanner unit. My GP605 got a strange phenomena, it can keep running but after every 20-40 pages it will come out e100. After restart the machine u may continue using and if u lucky it can go through 60 pages before the code appear again hahahah .... I admit it almost antique with over 6mil copies

replacing the laser should take care of your issue with the E100 code. The intensity of the laser is probably getting weak causing your error codes.

Check the shutter linkage and clean the beam detect pcb sensor. Could be dying laser also.

That has been a common problem ever since this model was new.

We once had an iR60 (printer only version of the iR600) that had the laser fail with this code with under 5k prints on it.

The mirror that deflects the beam to the Beam Detect SensorPCBcould be dirty. The only way to access this mirror is to remove the scanner assembly first and go through the cavity that the scanner filled. This mirror is not part of the scanner assy.

Did you enter the values for the laser? I can't remember if you can see it by looking down in the optics or not. Look for a sticker with the LA-PWR-A, LA-PWR-B, IP delay or PVE-offset. If those values for the laser aren't correct you can get an intermittent E100. I'm with Charm, MrFixit, Canuk, and KenB, those laser assemblies went bad a lot. I can't recall ever seeing an E100 that wasn't cured by replacing the laser, or entering the correct values after another tech (me included) replaced the laser assy and forgot to enter those values.
