Not True-
I have worked on hundreds of these models ,

Hi guys this laser reg clear was added to a new version of system software it is there to use for cq issues i was shown by my Canon tech support guy so if it was added for Canon engineers then we dealers might as well use it.
Dealers should not be in the service mode- Level 1 or Level 2
We have has Customers try and break contracts, because Service techs introduced them to the service mode, and they caused issues and down time.
Registration issues require a procedure to follow, especially on these Color Models
The majority of registration issues on these models is Mechanical & PM

true the drum units can cause the displacement, but they have never solved a problem with displacement.

if the drums are over 200% of its drum life the sensor cant read the alignment of colors specially when you turn on the machine. the older the drum unit the color density comes lighter then it turns to mis judgement of the sensor.it really affects the auto color adjustment. i expience it on some of this machine.
there is no glory without sacrifice
clear dc con will not solve the colour problems, should check for the ITB and drums for its life and displacements of belt and rollers inside it, cleaning first.
but most cases will be old drums
