If the customer knows their getting a second hand machine (for want of a better description, I will never be a salesman) whats the problem, they just want it to work. If a manufacturer provides a way of zero'ing the counters who is to say its unethical.

We all know brand new products have 'teething problems' and the users of these copiers get familiar with them, the manufactures also learn from their mistakes and introduce remedies in future versions. If we take the canon 22/28/35/4570 series for example, these all suffered from jamming in the right door which the newer 3045 family had fixed. So if we take a 2270 with little milage replace the durables and take the improved parts from the newer machines and fit them, we now have a machine that will to the best of our knowledge work well, cause the customer less problems and therefore less problems for our field service technicians.

    I am a canon tech.

My question relies on the other side of story.

Is there any way to understand if the counter has been modified ?

I mean avoiding being a victim.

    I am talking about ir6570 & iR105.

    thnx
    V-P
