    Re: Plotter YPF710 - Error Code 03130031-2F13

error occurs only on the left edge of each sheet (A1, A2, A3)
sheet is flat, it does not touch the print head
plotter stops the noise only at the beginning of the movement to the right
    it happens on every sheet
an attachment - see the video of this error.
I think it does not depend on the iron shaft.
error occurs at the beginning of the carriage return back only.

Lightbulb Re: Plotter YPF710 - Error Code 03130031-2F13

I had this error (03130031-2F13) and the solution was USE GENUINE CANON INK. I bought a whole set of cartridges and after 5 minutes and loosing 40% from cartridges my plotter was working like new.
I reserched and I found that canon printhead is analizing the ink density. If the ink contains to much watter its not ok. I have read on a rusian forum(thanks to google translate) that the problem is mostly from black pigment (MBK).

    1. Check for abnormal carriage drive load

    a. Faulty carriage idler pulley (broken spring hook, dropped belt teeth)
    b. Faulty linear encoder sensor
( soiled or flawed linear encoder, or improper mounting position / tension )
    c. Soiled carriage rail ( unlock the purge unit and move it by hand)
    * Never oil the carriage rail!!!
    d. Improper carriage belt tension
    e. Foreign matter inside the rail (cutter, cleaning brush, bearing out of position)

    2. Check carriage motor drive at electrical fault

    a. Drive signal / voltage error
Check main controller J3101-1 for 32v during initial operation at start up
    b. Upgrade firmware if it is v1.31 or any earlier release
    c. Poor connector contact / wiring
    d. Faulty motor (replace the carriage motor and / or the main controller )

If the error occurs before the start of printing, the main controller is most likely faulty.

The problem is reported to have occurred as a result of a faulty cutter, depending on the version of firmware.

If Replacing the Print head does not resolve the problem. Try re-seating the Flex Cable, cleaning the Linear Scale and the Carriage Rail may clear the code.

Bushings in Carriage Unit get lubricated in the factory.
    * Never oil the carriage rail!!!
    Attachment 9590
Canon full of it on this one. The oilite bushings in the carriage are crap. Force you to buy new carriage. Have changed carriages and still don't resolve the issue sometimes. Clean and lube and all better. I have went in after another tech many times after they just clean the rail with alcohol. Chattering noise and this error is created. I clean with alcohol and use 3 in 1 oil. It is the proper viscosity, etc for this purpose. I know Canon says to not oil but I been doing wide format for 20 years and Canon is lost on this one(check out tech support on wide format......GARBAGE.) I am very PRO-CANON but their engineers are LOST this on. You must use proper oil. I could ramble on about lubricants..I started as a mechanic about 30 years ago and build engines on the side still. I KNOW TONS ABOUT LUBRICANTS FROM AN ENGINEERS POINT OF VIEW. if you want to keep the rail dry,go for it

    Good evening users.

I have a Canon IPF8300S, and i have the same errors (03130031-2f1f) after plotter inizialization.
I have contacted Canon support and they have replied me that is necessary to change the purge unit.
    What can i do?
    Can you help me?
    many thanks

we have been successfully using "hair oil".

It is a cosmetic product for oiling the hair and it looks compatible with Canon iron shaft

    Re: Plotter YPF710 - Error Code 03130031-2F13

I had an iPF840 with the 2F13 code today. I read through this thread to prepare myself, but I was totally unprepared for how easy the call was.

Sure, the carriage couldn't move properly, but the reason was pretty obvious. The last 6 wraps of paper were spooling off the cardboard core, ~56mm diameter. When this very curly paper passed over the cutter the paper raised up 25mm, catching on the carriage, and shredding the document. I simply loaded a new roll of paper. It's not completely unreasonable to throw away 42 linear inches of paper that won't print. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
