IR 3300 - scanning set up and service manual needed

    Hello all,

We recently purchased an old 3300 and it's up and running on our network. However, I can not figure out how to get the SCAN function setup. I don't see anywhere to enter path for scan to location... We have the manuals but it doesn't seem to list that.

Also, we'll need to buy a service manual to keep on hand as things progress.

    Thanks for any help!

    J

    Here you can download software:
    Network ScanGear v2.30

After you install the scanning software, you should see a "Network Scan Gear" in the program list.
You open that and than you choose "Automatic Discover" or Detect or smth. Than your scanner shows up.
Than you need smth like Photoshop or ADOBE PDF Full version to scan from, or others.

You will have to get manuals from Paul but for the scanning part, the machine uses "Pull scanning" with scangear and the computer, not "Push scanning" and that is why you do not see a path on the copier for scanning.

Thanks all! I got it all set up on our PCs but I'm doing something wrong on our Macs. It adds as a printer but not as a scanner. We're running OS X 10.6.7 and I thought I used the scangear for mac correctly but...

Does anyone know where I can find MAC step by step instructions?

    Thanks,
    J

There is no ScanGear for Mac. Run Windows as a VM on one of your machines and use that to scan. I recommend using Adobe Acrobat with Network ScanGear to directly scan to a PDF.
