CLC Image Fault

Hello Guyz...

I have a print from a CLC machine below. Equal interval white lines and in between those are lighter white lines as well.
This goes to all C, M, Y, K prints if you're going to make an individual color print. Not same location, only same interval of those whites.
This is PG 05 - 80. On PG 10, print is ok, only on halftones its making these whites.

Coupled with a darker print on below and the rest are lighter on the rest.

Drum Life has made 5000 copies only. and 6months only.
Grid Wire is new, grid plate may be a little not new but still ok.
Developer's Spacers are not broken.

Any ideas as to what else to check or what may be causing the white lines/patch or however it is called.

What CLC model are u talking about ?????


if this is a CLC4000/5000/5100 Series>
Remove paper pick-up unit - take it over to a table and blow out all the paper dust with can air

Developing Bias HVT Assembly can cause banding in cross feed direction

make sure drum shafts have no excess play both up and down and side to side.
if so aligned all the drum shafts

remove all Primary coronas - remove the side plates clean with green pad & alcohol
that brown crap is from corona discharge/

check Internal Static Eliminator roller has not become dislodged from the holding brackets.

Just remembered something/since the symptom is on all colors
that Internal Static Eliminator roller will cause this exact issue if old/
or the rear connector is not pushed in tight.

Make sure the dust proof glass is clean> & not missing ~~~~~~~~~~~

I would do a DRUM Shaft alignment/ do u have the weight tool ?
check the Drum weights screws-

also remove the Transfer sheet/ remove the Transfer Blade/ look in back of the metal rail it sits on> make sure the small retraction spring is not missing/ do the same for the Attraction Blade

when was the last time u replaced the sheet and blade units ??

Dust Proof Glass is there... checked and cleaned.

How do u do that Drum Shaft Alignment? And no, i dont have a weight tool...
Will check on that Drum Weight Screws and the retraction spring tommorrow.

Not sure when Transfer Sheet/transfer/attraction blades was last replaced, for sure it was between September to December last year, and since September up to the present, it made only 5k copies, and since last March this year, 60% of the time, machine is off.

Any other test points i need to check on?

reason u don't see pitch lines or faint light areas cross-feed is because of the amount of toner saturation.
here is a Tech tip for CLC 1100 series> remove the Ozone filter if present on FM2-Exhaust fan/in back upper right corner / do not replace it/-make sure printer is not pushed up against the wall

U first need rewire the Primary wire /clean the wire & replace the Grid plate(new) do not over tighten the plate screw.
The grid plate causes many issues in a poor enviorment
Run Auto gradation/ check each color on an individual PG5/



Adjusting the Position of the Photosensitive Drum Fixing Shaft
Check this first>>
Slide the photosensitive drum frame unit about 5 cm out of the copier, and then slide it
back in. If the movement is not smooth, adjust the position of the photosensitive drum fixing
shaft using the drum shaft positioning tool (FY9-3045).

This adjustment, however, need not be made if the images are free of color displacement, blurring, and faults at intervals and, moreover, the discrepancy between the photosensitive drum fixing shaft and the hole of the photosensitive drum flange is about 1 mm.

Manual instruction is a little misleading on this full procedure
Front side is ok, but rear frame instructions fail to mention- u need to remove the weighted plates/& drum motor assembly/ the rest is ok-

Do u have a CLC1100 Series Manual ?????

that light and dark shading might be something from the developer area. Worn gears...lifting assembly not holding the developer units tight...or spacers on the drum unit have a build on them causing the developers not be close enough to the drum surface. This is a labor intensive unit. Take your time and clean it properly!!!

havent finished checking yet...

im planning to swap in another drum for testing/isolation....

check already on the transfer drum, that transfer blade and attraction rail spring

primary wire is replaced, grid plate is swapped just to check if there's any changes - still same

run a gradation already and on PG5, still same on all colors...

forgot that ozone filter, will get back on this.
