Measure to prevent E020-0360/ E020-0391/ E020-03b1 error codes due to electrostatic buildup on the black toner sensor during shipment.
Error codes E020-0360/ E020-0391/ E020-03b1 may occur due to electrostatic buildup on the black toner
    sensor.
E020-0360: Low density of the target during patch detection.
E020-0391: The average value of the detected inductance sampling value is equal to or higher than the
    specified value.
E020-03b1: Error in detecting the delta T/D ratio (T/D ratio detected by the ATR Sensor is equal to or lower than the specified value).
    <Cause>
A false detection may occur due to an electrostatic charge within the light-emitting/-receiving section of the black toner sensor [3], which is located in the area where it receives toner from the toner bottle leading in too much toner adhesion. Because of this, toner supplied to the black developing assembly becomes insufficient resulting in an error.
After replacing the Toner Feed Assembly, please review the additional steps to perform on page 8 of 8.

if you are in hurry you can use this tool of the irc2380i which is in the front of door to clean the toner sensor of imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2030/C2020 and after it you can do the adjust. you only have to take out the bottle of toner and cleaning the sensor with the irc2380i tool

    Hello

I have had another 2020i submit this error.

I ran through the Canon Tech Bulletin and I will be swapping the BK toner hopper over later today.

In the meantime I loaned them a similar machine, guess what same error, scratching my head....

I swapped over the drums and ITB; went to SM - Copier / Function / Install supply BK

My question is regarding the DENS voltages, the BK is still high 3.5v in SM

I did notice as well a thin film of white substance, I assumed it was coming off the cleaning blade, like patting powder.

Can the drum be damaged due to toner starvation from a potential faulty hooper?

Can anyone recommend my next step, clear DCON, resubmit settings / autograd?

    Cheers

When installing a new drum or developer assembly you need to run "ITB-Drum" under user setting.
To run the user mode go into setting and registration / adjust maintenance / itb-drum.

    see below

There is a user mode that is to be used after replacing the drum units on these machine. To see the user mode you first must enable it in service mode.
Step one: In service mode change Copier / Option / Display SW / ITB-DSP set to =1
Step two: Go into setting and registration / adjust maintenance / ITB-drum

imageRUNNER ADVANCE displays an E020-0360 at power on.

the contact for the black developer may be bent, this causes a poor connection between the black developer and the DC controller. The part number for the contact is FM3-8111-000. See the following photo of the damaged developer contact.

The E020-0360 error code came up after the black drum was replaced. Installed the old drum and the error remained. This code is for a failed ATR Patch or Patch Sensor error. The Patch Sensor, ITB, and the black drum was replaced. DC-CON was cleared and the laser dust glass was cleaned. The bias tabs were checked and all looked good. The new style hopper was already installed.

    Workaround :
In this case replacing the Laser Scanner Unit FM3-8074-000 resolved the issue.

    Hello

As always thanks for the help, gotta say not a fan of this early model.

I updated the firmware to the latest version, give pretty much everything a clean; those laser glass positioning are a really poor design.

I followed TP11 and ended up installing a new drum, using the correct procedures outlined in SM, the DENS voltage are pretty close to 0 now

Hopefully that will resolve this issue, just got to replace the other toner hopper on my spare machine..........

    Once again thanks

i believe that the second 20 in the "imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020" name comes from that line of errors, they seem endemic

Is there a similar fix to this on the 5030i?
