Pub. is to notify the field that when replacing the main controller PCB assembly, a
RAM Clear should be performed to prevent a solid image.
When replacing the main controller PCB assembly [1] listed in the service parts list at the end of this
Pub., a RAM clear should be performed according to the following Service Mode
procedure.

I had this problem a month or so ago and from what I remember only scans are solid black, report prints come out ok.

Nice to see the new board wont need this clear.
