    Error Message E0005000

    I work at NIH and we have a Cannon Image Runner 7086 and we got a message of E0000500 what does that stand for ? Do we need to call a tech for service ?

    it means there was a malfunction in your finisher.
    turn finisher off
    turn copieroff
    turn finisher back on
    turn copier back on all in that order.

    if the code is still there call service.
    if not-- keep copying
    i have seen 2 0r 3 machines in this family do this for no reason i could find.

    It is a communication error between the copier and the finisher, Vigour has given you good advice on the approach to this problem. I would add, that while both the copier and the finisher are turned off, reseat the coaxial communications cable between the two components. It is a twist on the knurled connector to disengage, and push in and twist to re-engage the cable.

    As mentioned before, turn the finisher on first, then the copier. If this does not resolve your issue, it is now time for a certified technician to resolve the problem.
