Re: Canon Ir105 usb to parallel cable..HELP!

    hi,
what do u want ? print or update firmware.

if want to print then just connect machine with lan cable & set ip address according to network in tcp/ip settings under system settings.

    * > system settings > network settings > tcp/ip settings

after making settings according to ur network install pcl driver in ur laptop or pc & create a new port as tcp/ip port & give ip address u give in machine. driver will be installed and u can easily get prints from machine.

if want to update firmware then only usb cable can be used. connet usb cable to laptop & start sst & make settings accordingly and u can update firmware. one thing is important - sst without which u can't update.

Re: Canon Ir105 usb to parallel cable..HELP!

That is my problem, i dont have the tcp/ip setting in the network options...all i get is I.P Address range settings.

Is there anyting i need to do to get the tcp/i.p settings? also i have a usb to parallel cable connected to the machine. I send a job to the ir105 and it shows that the job has been sent but i get nothing printed!

Have you got a step by step guide for updating the firmaware?

    Thanks

sounds like you might have or have had a RIP attached to your machine.
    go into service mode *28*
    press copier
    then option
    then int-face
    then img-cont

if you have no rip it should be 0.

you say you have usb to parallel cable attached.
parallel printing does not use an IP address
    only lpt1 or 2 ,
your cable might need some funky port, that should setup with a driver.

to print ip address, press additional functions > report > network.
If there is no report button, you have to print configuration from your rip.

    what driver are you using.

Right guys ive done a reset on the card and i now have the option to add an i.p address which i successfully done. The 105 pings my laptop but when i go through the add printer and put in the i.p address of the machine it does not find it, yet i can ping both ways?! i have auto detect enabled. Does anyone know where i am going wrong?

    Nethawk driver is now in>C:\Canon\ServiceSupportTool\inf\USBPAdp
    on newer SST versions

    early versions of SST
The folder will be located in the directory where you installed the Service Support Tool. By default, it will be located in C:\ProgramFiles\ServiceSupportTool\inf\USBPAdp.

Please be aware that for later versions of Service Support Tool, the USBPAdp folder will be located by default in C:\Canon\ServiceSupportTool\inf\USBPAdp. Also be aware that this path will be subject to change if the Service Support tool was installed in another directory.

Re: Canon Ir105 usb to parallel cable..HELP!

Hi guys thanks for all the help but still at a loss.....

I have the IR105 on the same netowrk as my laptop. Ir105/192.168.0.3 Laptop/192.168.0.4.

i can ping both devices from each other but can not print.

I installed canon netspot installer and it picks the i.p address but says under product name: SNMP disabled device although i do have snmp set to enabled and community name set to public.

I have everything set up correctly but it wont print. do i need to clear or change anything in service mode?

    Thanks
