    noisy irc adv 5035

Hello, I have a noise coming from the fuser area coming out of standby mode. I have seen the bulletin and replaced a few fix films in the past for this prob, with good results, except 1 in particular. Has anybody else had further issues with this noise after replacement of fuser film?
    Thanks!

there is a firmware fix for fuser noise as well. Have you upgraded these units when replacing the film?

Actually did an upgrade as well to the latest version. Any other suggestions? Unfortuneatly this cust is good friends with the sales rep, so the heat is on some, turning this in to a much bigger deal.

i guess its been in the field for awhile so you must be past some defective films from Canon. Some were not greased right either. i would like to know what your result was to your update and lub. Did rebuilding the fuser stop the noise? The whole fuser?

Had a couple of machines that I have had to replace the film assy for a second time in short succession for the noise.

To be honest, I could SEE no reason for it at all on those occasions.

brake for the cam in the fixing assembly could be slipping.
Follow the steps below to remove the grease and provide a better grip for the leaf spring to resolve the noise issue.
On the rear side of the fixing assembly, remove the black plastic cover shown in the photo below.

remove the silver bracket with the leaf spring shown below.

Using alcohol, wipe off all of the grease from the tan gear and black cam shown below.

Then, wipe off all of the grease on the leaf spring using alcohol and rough up the surface of the leaf spring that contacts the tan gear with Scotch Brite.
