    Canon DADF-AB1 error

    Hi guys,
I've been having a problem with the automatic feeder of a Canon IR-2525. If I insert paper in it for a job it does not recognize it. I must press down on it in order for it to detect the paper. I have checked the sensors and everything appears to be OK.

Can some one shine a light on this and help me out.

    Thank you!!!

The Document set sensor (PI11) detects presence/absence of a document on the document tray.
When a document is placed on the document tray, the detection lever moves the light shielding plate to allow light to pass thorough the photo interrupter.
Thus, the Document set sensor (PI11) generates an document detection signal (EMPTY) to notify the host machine that an document is placed on the document tray via the ADF drive PCB.

    ALSO CHECK THE >>

    Thanks Teckat,
I have been testing both PI10 and PI11 sensors and they seem to be working just fine. the problem remains that I must still push down on the le lid of the DADF. I dont belive its the PI10 sensor because I do get a tone once a doc is placed, yet the problem remains, it does not pull on the doc, unless a little preasure is applied to the lid.

can you give me some other ideas,

    thank you very much,

    Victor

is there a magnet involved ?
is the cover warped/ out of shape ?? how is the hinge ?
something blocking or preventing correct close ???

    Teckat,

On the Canon DADF-AB1 there is no magnet, it locks with a sort of hook. Cover and hinges are intact, itīs a new copier.
The lid closes perfctly, and I hear the click the hook makes when it locks in place, this is why I have been having so much trouble with this, everything seems A-OK, but I still need to apply just a little bit of preasure on the lid fo it to pull the doc.

    Can you think of anything.

    Thanks.
