Black is not black enough !

    Hello,

On ImagePRESS C.6010VP, the solid black are not black enough. To be clear the color black 100% on coated paper is perfect but the same black on standard paper is not good enough, there is a cloud effect in (like tranfser problem), but developper, ITB, transfert roller Primary and secondary have been replaced. Those tests has been done in service mode test 5 K=255. (other = 0).

Engine is quite new counter (102) = 180 000 print.

    Any idea?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

Adjusting the Secondary Transfer Voltage of a Custom Paper Type

    1. Press [Change] next to <Secondary Transfer Voltage>.
    2. Press [-] or [+] under <Front Side> or <Back Side> to adjust the voltage > press [OK].

The secondary transfer voltage is applied when toner is transferred to paper. When lighter
image or image blurring occurs on custom paper as compared with standard paper, adjust the
voltage according to the table below.

Note: Changing this setting may affect the settings in [ITB Image Clear Adjustment], [ITB Paper
Detachment Adjust.], and [Tail End White Patch Correct.]. Readjust these settings, if necessary.

Re: Black is not black enough !

    Hello,

    For information.

This problem has been solved by the replacement of second transfert roller (too old) and many contact brushes around transfert section.

After that, the black developper has been changed.

In the future, you can make spot adjustments by going to
    Add Functions
    System Settings
Device Mgt Settings (3 menus down)
Color settings. (you can use the density fine adjustment (dark) to push in those dark blacks if necessary.)

STV +10 works too, but I recommend only using it to a custom paper like stipple or linen where nothing else works.

Also, double check your shade correction a when baselining the machine.
I keep a (best result) shade correction sheet archived. If something is too light or too dark, ill manually adjust until a service tech can further investigate variations in tone.
